Yes, zucchini and squash are keto-friendly! If you’re on the keto diet, you can definitely enjoy a variety of zucchini and squash meals. The vegetables are very good for you and they are a great source of fiber.

What is zucchini?

Zucchini is actually a type of squash. It is squash that grows in the summer months and is native to Mexico and Central America. It is technically a fruit, and it’s very rich in vitamins A and C. Zucchini is quite low in calories, so it’s perfect for people who are trying to watch their figure and live a healthy life.

What kind of cheese can I add to zucchini au gratin?

The recipe calls for parmesan and some shredded cheese of your choosing. Parmesan is a hard cheese with a very distinct flavor. I recommend using the cheese you like best. If you have a favorite cheese that you know goes well with zucchini, go for it! While parmesan is my personal favorite, I find that gouda is not bad either.
