If you don’t like pork chops, chances are you were forced to eat meat that tasted more like rubber as a kid. Don’t worry about that with this recipe; our delicious brown sugar chops always end up soft and tender. The combination of sweet brown sugar and fragrant soy sauce creates a wonderful flavor that will satisfy even the pickiest eater.

Contrary to popular belief, baking a good piece of meat for dinner is not hard. You don’t have to do much; just pop the pork chops in the oven and go on with your day. While the chops are in the oven, you have an hour to make the rest of dinner, and even enough time to spare for a yummy dessert!

How to make Delicious Brown Sugar Chops?

Preheat the oven to 350 F degrees.

Place the pork chops in a 9 x 13 baking pan.

Add a tablespoon of brown sugar on top of each pork chop. Top each chop with a tablespoon of margarine and sprinkle some soy sauce.

Cover the baking pan with foil and bake the dish for 45 minutes.

Remove the foil and bake for another 15 minutes.

Serve with a side of potatoes, salad, or roasted veggies.

Why are my pork chops brown?

If you’re talking about baked chops that just came out of the oven, that’s perfectly normal! After you take off the foil, they get 15 minutes to turn a beautiful brown color. However, fresh pork chops should be light pink. If they’ve begun turning brown, they’re probably going bad and you should throw them out.

How can I make my pork chops more tender?

When you bake pork chops without marinading them first, you’re risking eating somewhat dry chops. In order to make them more tender, you can soak them in milk for 1-4 hours. Milk, buttermilk, and yogurt are all very effective at tenderizing the meat. However, they might alter the taste slightly.

What should I serve pork chops with?

Pork chops go well with any type of potatoes. Try steak fries, scalloped potatoes, or mashes potatoes. If you’re in the mood for veggies, add brussels sprouts, broccoli, caramelized carrots, or green beans. The creamy texture of macaroni and cheese can really complement the flavor of the pork chops. The same goes for creamed spinach and French onion soup.
