Easy Peach Dumplings

by Strauta

Peach dumplings are a delicious sweet treat that is a cross between peach cobbler and a croissant. They are ridiculously good and relatively easy to make. You can treat your loved ones with this amazing dessert, or enjoy them with a cup of tea or coffee on a rainy afternoon. These peach dumplings will make your kitchen smell amazing and welcome fall back into your life.

If you’re a fan of savory dumplings that are so common in Asian cuisines, you might enjoy these sweet Americanized ones even more. The flavor profile is very distinct, but they’re delicious nonetheless.

How to make Easy Peach Dumplings?

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 F degrees.

Place a peach slice at the wide end of each triangle. Sprinkle with cinnamon and roll up.

Transfer dumplings to the baking dish.

Combine white sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon and melted butter. Mix until smooth.

Pour the mixture over the dumplings.

Pour Sprite around the dough, not touching the tops.

Bake for 30 minutes or until golden brown.

Serve with vanilla ice cream.

Can I use canned peaches for peach dumplings?

Yes, of course! Canned peaches might be easier to find, depending on where you are. They are also often cheaper. Once the dumpling is baked, no one will be able to tell whether you used a fresh or canned peach. If you have access to fresh peaches, the consistency might be a bit better, but not many people will be able to see the difference.

Do I need to peel fresh peaches for peach dumplings?

It is not necessary to peel your peaches if you decide to use fresh ones. The skin will soften in the oven and it won’t be a bother to chew up. However, if you are very attentive to details like these and cannot stand fruit skin in your dessert, peel the peaches!

What can I replace Sprite with in peach dumplings?

Sprite ensures your peach dumplings have that gooey texture that we love. It’s important to avoid pouring any directly on top of the dumplings, as we do want them to get brown and crispy in the oven. If you don’t have Sprite, you can use Fresca, 7-UP, or Mountain Dew.
