Chips and dip have been the blueprint for house parties for years. Whether you’re organizing a grand soiree for everyone and their plus ones or having a few friends over for a Harry Potter marathon, chips and lots of dips are a must. You can combine all kinds of textures and flavors, like hummus and veggies, tortilla chips and salsa, crackers and cheese dip, and so on.

Everybody is familiar with the traditional dips; you see those at every party. You have your hummus, tzatziki, and salsa. If you want to wow your guests, you’re going to have to think outside of the box for this one. Ever heard of the million-dollar dip? It’s a wonderful combination of cheddar, bacon, and mayonnaise, topped with almonds and green onion.

The best part is, it only takes 5 minutes to make! Do you want to impress your guests, and enjoy a delicious and unusual dipping sauce? Keep on reading!

How to make the 5 Minute Million Dollar Dip?

Place your green onions, cheddar cheese, mayonnaise, bacon bits, and slivered almonds in a small bowl.

Combine the ingredients.

Chill the dish for at least 2 hours.

Serve it with your favorite crackers, chips, and veggies.

How long can I leave out a dip for?

After 2 hours in the fridge, the dip should just reach the perfect temperature. Chilling it beforehand also gives you a little bit more time before it reaches room temperature. In most situations, the dip will be long gone way before it reaches room temperature.

However, if there’s still some left, it’s recommended to pop it back in the fridge for 30 minutes after 2-3 hours or so. The reason for that is that this dip contains perishable ingredients like bacon, onion, and cheese. These ingredients are not good for consumption after being in the sun all day. Be mindful of the temperature of the dip and don’t eat food that’s gone bad!

What can I serve with my million dollar dip?

The beauty of dips is that you can go as crazy as you’d like and serve them with almost anything. Generally speaking, you should aim for something crunchy to complement your creamy dip. Opt for veggies like celery, cucumbers, and carrots. Throw in some tortilla chips, crackers, pretzels, and wheat thins. There are no rules, so if you find something that goes well with your dip, add it to the platter!

Can I make this dip one day before the party?

Of course! If you don’t want to rush on the day, you can start preparing one day in advance. To preserve the flavor and appearance of the dip, all you have to do is place it in a dish and cover it with a lid. Some people even say that the dip starts to taste better after spending a night in the fridge.
